Re: Query not accepting Form Value (multi Select List)

That requires users to respond to a parameter prompt?
It seems to me that if you could pass your string to the query as you are doing, it would work - but you cannot. You can if you used a function...

Re: Show Button Only for Admins

I realize that, but what I'm saying is that you need a way to identify who that currently is. If there is no current/temporary login record or history you cannot get the last/max of any user data. ...

Re: Show Button Only for Admins

The issue I see at this point is that you haven't revealed if more than one user can be logged in at the same time, or how to determine who's opening the form that you want to hide the button from....

Re: Accidental them changed

there are 2 things I know of that one can do. One would be to design a form with every control that needs to be customized, and set all those properties. Save that form in FormDb and import it into...

Re: Validation Key for DB - hash email and exp date

Not if the startup code is comparing date() to key value?

As we've both stated elsewhere, Access security requires a multi faceted approach. It's like a chain - as strong as its weakest link....

Re: Validation Key for DB - hash email and exp date

I suspect you meant 'hack'?
If dates are going to be involved, one has to consider working in code with only US format?
Interesting - no one mentioned registry keys for this. Perhaps because it's...

Re: Mixed Validation Error

Well, I played with this at the form and table level. Table generates errors with < > or = on a text field, which is what you'd need if you expect to put n/a in it. Form just ignores it. You will...

Re: How to make a field mandatory

works for me, but I did make a few changes - one of which was to remove the save button embedded macro. You have a mix of code and such macros - better to have one or the other, I'd say. Under...

Re: How to make a field mandatory

I have no idea what that means. I think it would be best if you posted a db copy. Strip out everything that's private if it's not relevant. If you need to include data that is private, consider this...

Re: Form/Query/Subquery Not working

There is no reason to have any query open when it's nested or based on a form. If need be, the form will call/open a query, as will any query nested (chained) to another. You open the last (e.g. 3rd)...

Re: Using access to store chemistry experiment results

I'd say "depends". If 1st observation field is temp and the 2nd observation field is mass, then no. Every record where one applies but not the other means empty fields. Plus, what happens if a new...

Re: Mixed Validation Error

In post 1 you said it was a form field. In post 4 you say it's the validation rule property. These are not necessarily the same thing. The latter takes place at the table level where

Re: Mixed Validation Error

you should always post what you tried - often eliminates such questions plus helps us get on the right track. If you posted

If Me.txtValue Between 10 And 15 Or = N/A Then

then the answer...

Re: Get value of Link Master Field

I stated why not (The property value isn't assigned until execution returns to form1...) which simply means your attempt is late, but I guess SomeSmurf stated it more clearly. However, OpenArgs IS a...

Re: Get value of Link Master Field

OK, I watched the vid. I get what you're doing but I would use other methods such as OpenArgs to pass the value to the control, or just make mTest public and code as below. The behaviour that you say...

Re: Get value of Link Master Field

Honestly, no disrespect intended as I think you have a greater general knowledge of Access than I, but wouldn't the right approach be to learn how they work rather than create work-arounds?

Re: Get value of Link Master Field

I see, except that if I recall correctly, this is about 2 subforms - and open subforms are not part of the Forms collection AFAIK. Thus I don't think your code represents the originally stated...

Re: Change Color Of Sub-Form Row

Looks like you got it then? Just be sure to test as many date ranges as you can, some with February and such. Looks promising though.

Hope this is not you......

Re: Get value of Link Master Field

If this is even possible I'll be totally amazed. Is that conjecture or you have actually created 2 forms with exactly the same name in the same database??

Re: Change Color Of Sub-Form Row

Maybe

DateSerial(Year(#06/14/2019#),Month(#06/14/2019#), 1) + 60where you are providing any valid date value for the month in question?

Re: Why doesn't the label stay on your Form

Nice explanation. Has anyone ever complained that it didn't work, only to discover that theirs wasn't attached? You do mention attached more than once but don't say that it has to be. It would not...

Re: Why doesn't the label stay on your Form

I don't get that, or most of the other seemingly impossible things. I put several on a form and chose to space equally - no problem. Put labels on the left too. As for a font, why would you expect to...

Re: How to make a field mandatory

AFAIK, if the field cannot accept zls then it will be null. Then again, I know if you try to add only a space to a table field, Access will remove it, hence still null.

Possibly something like...
