This time goodbye is for good

I just wanted to say goodbye to everyone here and some may miss this because it is in the Watercooler but I think it is best here. I am now on a different journey. I am deeply involved in SQL...

Re: Access ODBC Drivers - 32 bit and 64 bit

I have been running 32 bit Office on Windows 7 64 bit for many years now. 64 bit drivers can, and are, on my machine. The problem you may be facing is trying to use the wrong drivers from the wrong...

Re: File already in use. Not really!

I think it is what you are using for the connection. If you are connecting to the database where your code is located, the code should be:

Set cnADO = CurrentProject.Connection

Re: Count if function in query help

MyCounts:Sum(IIf([amount] >=10, 1, 0)) + Sum(IIf([amount] = 100, 1, 0))

You don't use quotes for the >=10 or = 100.

And won't the count of >=10 AND adding count of =100 double count?

So like this

Re: Error Handling in a query that was run from a macro

1. Use an input form for inputs. Don't use parameter prompts. If you just had a combo where they select the month, etc. it won't be incorrect ever.

2. What do these queries do? Are they...

Re: FE/BE Linked Tables

You don't create the table in the frontend. You create the table, if not already done, in the OTHER database and then you use the EXTERNAL DATA tab to link to it. The Linked Table Manager is only...

Re: Can only interact with first record of a form

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you are saying, if you use a Union query it is not going to be updateable.

Re: Loop, Dim, ignore Nulls, and Dim

You don't need to have multiple variables declared. You can use a single variable.

Dim PD As String

PD = PD & Nz(rs.Fields(x).Value, vbNullString)

The Nz function handles nulls and turns...

Re: Run-Time Error 91 - VBA to Print to PDF

You should NOT use a new connection for this. instead of

Set cnn As New AODB.Connection

it should be

otherwise you can end up with errors.

Re: What to upgrade Access 97 to?

I don't think I would say that any version has been as stable as A97. Personally, I think you would be good to go with Access 2010. 2003 is approaching full end of life in April 2014. 2007 is...

Re: how to hide a field?

Don't use a make table query. Just create the table once, delete the extra field and then use a DELETE query to clear out the table and an APPEND query to populate it.
