Re: SQL Statement Hates Me

First, a really tiny nit-pick... you don't need to specify tbltTasks.iTask, you can just use iTask, because there is only one FROM table so there can be no ambiguity.

Second, you might need to set...

Re: Highlighting focused controls in subform

Okey-dokey.

Look at this example. See if it makes sense to you. Remember this is just ONE example.

The theory is that you are preparing to call this to make your controls always look similar...

Re: passing a value from one form to another

Given the code you posted in #7, the "OpenArgs" idea suggested by Minty seems to be the simplest option.

Re: I must be missing soemthing obvious!

The next thing I would try would be to manually open the new file with Excel and see what it says. If there is a file error in an Excel App object, there should be a file error in Excel as the main...

Re: Highlighting focused controls in subform

What I did for sub-forms was to remember that they are forms, too. So rather than have the parent form stew over this problem, I just made the routines generic and let the sub-form's local event...

Back on course for the jokes...

A farmer in Alexandria Louisiana bought a lottery ticket. He didn't win the grand prize but he got enough to fix up his house and some other things he needed done....

Re: Orlando Shootings

The problem isn't guns, it is people. Always has been. Always will be. Taking away the guns of mentally sound people is solving the tyrant's problem, not the citizens' problem.

The last several...

Re: Insert Query Help

Old programmer's rule #2: Access won't tell you anything you didn't tell it first, or at least tell it HOW to tell you. How that applies to this question is that if you want your data to be...

Ah, you want a single query to do difference AND formatting at the same time?

Rather than reinvent the wheel, I now join with the other who have asked you to post the code of those functions you...

Re: Time Calculation

OK, quickie overview of time computations.

Times are actually typecasts of DOUBLEs that give timeline distance from a reference point. Units are days and fractions thereof. Trust me, a DOUBLE...

And now 17 more in Broward County, Florida.

I'm still not a fan of gun control because in most cases, would-be shooters find ways to get the guns they want. The problem isn't with law-abiding...

Re: Are you an atheist?

Maybe at some point the USA's #MeToo movement will encourage some of the sufferers to come forward and get more of these monsters out of the pulpits and religious schools.

Re: Brexit and the Russian Plot for mind control Continued

Wait... those don't run on Apple devices. They can't, because the moment you run the TV app and it hosts an Apple ad touting superiority, the aforementioned AHD goes off.

Re: Access imported data rounding decimals down

OK, at least in theory, with nobody playing unusual formatting games, 1.0 + 1.0 will always equal 2.0 for floating - but 1.5 + 1.5 might NOT equal 3.0 because of rounding. That's because the...
