    Subreport being cut short

No. Unfortunately, the specification requires portrait format. However, it's only vertical formatting that appears to be the problem, and it doesn't appear to be "page-size-related" either. The problem sometimes occurs when there is plenty of space left on the page. It's only when the...

    Subreport being cut short

Hadn't thought of that. Unfortunately, however, the Chairman and Manager reports are not the same width. The manager report is wider and therefore has to fit under both the Secretary and Chairman Reports.

    Subreport being cut short

Hello, The Directors have two columns - address in one and phone numbers and email in another (done by having the phone numbers and email in a sub-sub-report within the sub report). Why? Cos that's the way it's always been done and change is anathema (previously, it was all typed out longhand...

    Subreport being cut short

I have a report showing name, address and contact details for an internal directory of a membership organisation. The report has 4 sub-reports, one each for Directors, Secretaries, Chairman and Managers (see picture). The Directors, Secretaries and Chairmen have their own columns an then the...

    Yep. That's nailed it. Thanks.

    Can't eliminate empty lines

That's more or less where I started, although with slightly different distribution of + and &. This works fine when used as a control source for a field in the (sub) report. However, it isn't working when populating the field with VBA. I'm still getting an "empty line" in the address if, say...

    Can't eliminate empty lines

I have a report with a sub-report that shows an employees name and address. If there happens not to be a relevant employee, then I have some code that searches a different table and comes up with a different address, which I load into an empty text box during the report details on format event...

    Print dots dots across page

Yep. I get your point. The client doesn't. He wants TNR anyway. But running enough dots across to the fldCompany text box so that the space is always filled, no matter how short fldName is, gives a nice straight edge, so he's happy.

    Print dots dots across page

The client specifically wants Times New Roman. Times New Roman is wot they've always had... A dot matrix printer is still a massive leap forward from quill pen and abacus...

    Print dots dots across page

This works great. Thanks, Guys :) As long as I make the line of dots long enough, the ragged ends are hidden under the right-hand text box, so it all looks neat.

    Print dots dots across page

I have a report that lists employees by company for an annual directory. However, the directory also has an "index" at the back that lists all employees alphabetically with the Company they work for. So, this "index" report just has two fields: [fldName] on the far left and [fldCompany] on the...

Double Click event not triggering After Update event

Yes, I can confirm that i did try tabbing out of the field and that this did not trigger the After Update event.

Double Click event not triggering After Update event

Yep. That absolutely did the trick. Thanks. What's the reasoning behind this? It would seem logical to me that if you fill a field with VBA, but don't tab out of it, then the tabbing should trigger the After Update? Obviously, the Access Deities think otherwise, but I can't work out why?

Double Click event not triggering After Update event

I have a form with a date field, that the user can double click to fill with a certain date. I then have code in the After Update event of the same field that adds a new record to a table if certain criteria are met. If I double click the field, it fills as it should and saves the date as it...

Get ID of created record overflow problem

Well, now that I'm using a long variable rather than an integer, it seems to work ok. The article I filched it from did say that it only worked with an Access BE and not with other types. Eep!
