    Censored!

This means US companies also have to comply with the legistation, since the internet gives global access. I believe the EU wants to upgrade their own laws. Then how do we deal with all this? Each country or block having their own rules. It would be nearly impossible for all those small...

    Censored!

Political debate also covers religion, and there is much talk about blasphemy laws in the UK now, via the backdoor. And then you get accused of hate speech, an offence. They can turn anything that is "merely offensive", into a hate speech classification, in my view.

Until someone goes rogue and then I am personally liable again.

    Censored!

I believe the law covers everything, although quite how we are supposed to monitor private conversations is beyond me. I've got to create a comprehensive audit of the site, the risk, technological solutions I have created and so on. I don't even know where to start. The whole thing is a...

    Censored!

You're welcome. I did my best. Sadly, censorship has taken over the UK and jeopardises the livelihood of people like me, while ignoring all the crime going on elsewhere.

As I understand it, it does not matter where the site is located. A US company that hosts in the US, who breaks the UK law is also liable if a UK citizen is affected. Yes, they made it exceptionally broad so they can bring the hammer down on anybody.

If someone is a member, they can still report the issue. Making The Watercooler posts automoderated, where someone has to look at each reply, would really stifle the conversation. I hate it!

    Censored!

Thanks. I have had a free speech policy ever since the site started, but now I have legal liability due to the onerous new laws coming into place. I cannot risk going into bankruptcy because someone said something on the forums that the thought police didn't like.

Things will change here shortly, due to the impending UK Only Safety Act. I personally become liable for everything you say, with huge potential fines. Consequently, topics for discussion will be severely curtailed, and moderation likely to be heavy.

Crypto - Buying Coins In Their Infancy as a Strategy

Whether it is live or not, you still have to make the same decisions. You are just doing it in advance. Also, the Efficient Market Hyopthesis has a thing or two to say about back testing. The value of the asset is already factored into the market price when you buy it. I'm not saying there is...

Crypto - Buying Coins In Their Infancy as a Strategy

Until you are confronted with the decisions in real time, it is hard to appreciate how difficult the decisions are. Beforehand, it all seems so simple: buy low, sell high. But when you actually do it, what is high? High might be a price that is lower than you originally bought the investment for.

Crypto - Buying Coins In Their Infancy as a Strategy

Yes indeed, some get the timing right. But is that down to being smart or luck? Maybe only hindsight gives the answer. You can make what appears to be a smart decision at the time, but because you cannot know all the relevant events that happen in the future, your smart decision could end up...

Crypto - Buying Coins In Their Infancy as a Strategy

So you pull out at £350. You are now confronted with the same decision as before you invested your money. Where do I invest my money? If you make a profit of £350 and then switch to another crypto coin, why switch? What is it about the other coin that makes it a better investment than the coin...

Virtual Reality Headsets - worth the money?

I have developer mode switched on, which enables me to completely disable the virtual boundary. If I have the boundary on, the room I do VR in is too small and I just see the boundary all the time. So, I just keep my feet in the same position on the floor. I've hit a filing cabinet, my monitor...
