    Many thanks for your input, I created a folder on the C drive (Win 7) and put all my DB's in the folder, but it was just the same. I then partitioned the drive moved then all to the new partition and it is all smiles now. Why Acer ship a Pc with 500GB drive without at least one partition beats me.
