dynamic form issue in creating report (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have a single cross tab query that feeds into 3 reports ( 3 semesters in an academic year) and read that I could use a dynamic form to select the term I wanted to see the report for. my parameters are academic year and Semester
I have created the dynamic form, pointed the query parameters to the combo boxes on the form and click the macro button to open the report. the result is I get the message back "the MS Access database engine does not recognise " as a valid field name or expression"
I then get a pop up window, titled Macro Single Step, showing error number 2950, and the arguments box reads "RPT Status overview, 5, , , Normal".
any advice would be greatly appreciated, as i am stuck.

Can you attach a copy of the database, it must be less than 2mg big and zipped if possible.
