Hi guys
I want generate running invoice number like INV00001,INV00002..etc

how it be possible to in this format?

just use autonumber. Then add the INV00.. in a query as a virtual 'invoice#'.
Why make more work for yourself.

Because autonumber cannot be relied on to make an unbroken sequence.


I do agree that only the number should be stored. The INV etc can be best added for display using the Format property of the textbox.
