Errant form (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have a form that only needs to be a certain width.
I size it in design or layout mode and save it. then go into Form mode and it remains as sized.
Close the form and reopen and it gows the full width of the screen again.
I've tried to compare it with other forms that behave correctly, but cannot see any difference.:banghead:
I have Overlapping Windows set in the DB options.
For now I have put a DoCmd.Movesize in the Open event to get around it.

Any tips on this please?

Do you have it set to AutoResize = Yes ?
If you do you may have a control / line / box on the form that is bigger than your desired size.

you can size the form any way you want, but maximized, it will fill the screen.
Why would you work in a small form? a user can only work in 1 form at a time.

Hi Minty,
Yes the form is set to AutoResize = Yes, as are all the other forms, as that appears to be the default when a form ix created,?

I have a form template that I try and work from purely for cosmetic reasons.
It is copied from the Northwinds DB layout.

I'll have a look tomorrow for any control that is causing it, but all my forms are pretty basic. At present I am trying to concentrate on functionality and not making things look pretty. That comes later.

It is just due to there only being a few controls on this form.?

Ok,
This apparently is do to with a bug with split forms.
I know most people here do not use them, but they are quite handy in some situations.
If the form is changed to single form, it behaves as expected.

Suffice to say, the Docmd.MoveSize is the quickest fix (at least for me)
