Hi all,
I’m digging into a pet project and need your help jogging some memories! Cast your mind back to the late ‘90s/early 2000s when SMS texting burst onto our clunky old Nokias. Around my house, my wife was hooked—tapping away on that 12-key pad, racking up £50-100 extra on the bill some months! I swear she lived for it, while I stuck to calls.
It’s got me wondering—was this a thing? Did women take to SMS more than us blokes? Maybe it was the sneaky, quiet way to chat—less fuss than a loud call. Anyone else notice this back in the day? Wives, sisters, mates—who ruled the SMS roost in your world?
Love to hear your tales—might prove a point for this app I’m tinkering with!
Cheers, Uncle!
