Change Find Dialog settings to general

When I open up a new record and set the focus to goto a specific record it changes my default find/replace behavior from general to specific because it's in a specific field.

If I open the form and the first thing I do is a find and replace it will check all available fields on the form, but if I'm in a field it defaults to that field. Is there a way around this to keep it at general via code??
