Cheap Alternative to Access Imagine

Ok I just downloaded this database. The only way it works on my computer is if I select option YUY2, the default choice is MJPG.

Can anyone explain to me why? I also created a little database from some code I found and the same thing happened.

If I pick MJPG, no image is displayed in the viewer plus the file created has zero bytes.

As to why you must use one vs. the other? They differ primarily in frame rate, which relates to CPU and memory bus loads. I would guess that someone made a decision to support one vs. the other based on either frame rate requirements or image bandwidth requirements.

sample picture-capturing database. currently saving the image (bmp) to external folder. but can also be save to an Attachment field. the codes are not that organized so modify it as you wish. the code comes from an excel forum with some modification to adapt with msa. code is 32 bit and 64 bit...

The database is to control the webcam. When I select the MJPG option, nothing is displayed and a photo is not taken, but when I select the YUY2 option, the control on the form displays me and an image is taken.

and using old AviCap32 and maybe it does not support MJPG video.
as you can see on the link, MJPG is of poor quality.

Post 13 first screenshot shows both options. I think you have to first select Windows Camera App. Mine only shows the name of my webcam.
