Currency Exchange Rates

The attached database has been created as a practical example using downloaded JSON data from an online source.

The database gets the latest exchange rates from a free online data source at: http://fixer.io
Exchange rates are updated daily for a selection of common currencies
By default, the base rate has been set as British Pounds Sterling (GBP) but can be modified to any other supported currency

NOTE:
1. Other data sources are available if you need LIVE exchange rate data for a larger number of currencies. You may have to pay for live exchange data.

Minor update to v1.1 following user feedback: (Thanks Paul)

Two changes made:
a) selected currency is now retained after changing base currency
b) fixed issue where selected currency becomes new base currency

Currency Exchange Rates TRACKER

I've added an enhanced version of this application to my website.
The new version allows you to:
a) track changes in exchange rates over a period of time
b) plot the data as a chart

Its still free but supplied as an ACCDE file (both 32-bit and 64-bit available).
An ACCDB version with full code can optionally be purchased from the website at a low price

The currency exchange rate tracker has been updated to version 1.42

The main reason for the update is that the data provider fixer.io has updated their service to provide significant additional functionality including support for 168 currencies (previously 32).

The provider has also changed the download site and account settings. This means that the previous version of this app will no longer work after 1 June 2018

From that date, NEW users will have to pay $10 per month.
However because I am an existing customer, I have been transferred to a free legacy account with all the new features.
As the provider put it, I have been 'grandfathered into the legacy account'
That's a phrase I'd never heard before and took as a polite way of saying I'm an old customer !

Anyway, the upshot is if you update to the new version, the app & online data is still available FREE.
