Hi everyone,

I'm Curt and I'm from Charlotte, NC. Worked a bit with sql as an info sec analyst at a bank and after a job switch, I find myself working primarily with access. Trying my best to learn to program in vba, but, frankly, I'm on a team with not much help on that front so here I am. I work in payroll, and deal a lot with just moving data and pushing out excel payroll reports through email. Not even using the reporting options in access. Creating front end forms for users to use is very rare for me.

In my spare time prior to chasing 2 tiny humans around, I played drums/ acted like I played guitar and mostly just try to stay fit. Looking to connect, and mostly not get mocked as coding in general is always something I have felt I just havent been able to get my head around. Seriously, my original major in school way back when was computer programming (first courses were in java in early 2000's and I just couldnt hack it)

Hi. Welcome to AWF!

Curt, as a musician, you should find programming fairly easy conceptually. A piece of sheet music is just a program for which keys to press or strings to pluck. It has loops built in as well as jumping out of loops through a coda. Just a matter of mind-set. Myself, I'm a keyboard man and as far as programming goes, mostly retired except for my in-house projects... or if the project kind of stunk up the place, it was an out-house project.

Seriously, programmers and music frequently go together.
