This morning, while watching the morning news, there was an unexpected confluence of what appeared to be independent themes. Disney for the past few days has been lambasted for going "woke". Basically, some consumers (viewers), as with the Bud Light fiasco, are abandoning watching Disney's "woke" content.

For whatever reason, Doctor Who also made the news this morning. Turns out that BBC (Doctor Who) made a deal with Disney for a collaborative effort that has now appeared on the Disney channel (The Star Beast). We watched it this morning. It was entertaining, but contained an overlay of "wokeness". (We only occasionally watch episodes of Doctor Who so we are not very knowledgeable about the series.) Below, is one of several articles that we also received today. Seems like Disney, to a degree, has subverted Doctor Who.

Was amused when one of the Dr Who characters met an alien - their first question was 'what are your pronouns?'.

I have a feeling that advanced aliens from another planet would likely be the type who have focused on fact based achievements, not feelings.
At least, that's the star trek version, and I stick by it.

I bet those aliens would be on board with my oft-quoted (and personally invented) saying: If you want to know your gender, drop your pants and believe your eyes

It's meant to appeal to those who claim to be advocates of following science..

Should the article below prove to be prescient, a Disney spinoff would be very unfortunate. The "woke" Disney, has bastardized the story lines that it has taken-over.

Did Donna and Rose tease the 14th Doctor's ending?

Although nothing has been officially announced, it's expected that Disney+ will feature a number of Doctor Who spinoffs. Given the increased interest in the return of David Tennant and Catherine Tate, the prospect of another event series with the Doctor and Donna has surely crossed the minds of those at Disney, the BBC, and Bad Wolf Productions. However, it would be a terrible idea to bring back David Tennant after this last hurrah in Doctor Who's 60th anniversary special. If the Fourteenth Doctor splits himself in two and decides to stay behind on Earth, that should be the end of his story.

Such an ending would neatly resolve the David Tennant Doctor's desire to live an everyday human life, something that defined many of his best episodes. Returning to him for more adventures in the TARDIS would undermine the character's ending. Worse still, a David Tennant spinoff on Disney+ would undermine Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor, by putting the focus back on the most popular and populist version of the character. Hopefully, Donna Noble was right when she said that the Tenth Doctor's face came back to say goodbye, and that he's saying a final farewell to Doctor Who before it embarks on an exciting new future with Ncuti Gatwa.
