Question Dynamic Serial No in Reports or Queries

I have created a table Vehicle with Vehicle ID as autonumber, while creating reports when i apply grouping or filters, it disturbs Vehicle ID as by groupwise, i want to create another field name as Sr# in which on my reports it shows continuos Serials without any break like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 while in Vehicle ID case it may display 1,2,4,7,9 because of grouping or filtering, please help me in this case, thanks

Hi

1) create a new text field in the report
2) open the list of properties of this new field.
3) In the property "source control" set: = 1
4) In the property "Running Sum" set: Total (full)
