Does anyone know if there is an equivelant on a form with "Continuous Forms" as the "Detail_Format" on Reports.

I have a Form which contains a sub form. The Main form is a "Single Form" and the sub form is a "Continuous Forms". On this sub form I wish to high light the details on a specific instance depending on a value on the main form. Possibly make the boarders of the text boxes red instead of black.

I have attached a dump of the form. As it might make what I am doing more understandable.

All help greatfully received.

you need to look at conditional formatting, I think.

As Dave said, you will need to use conditional formatting. Reports are built in a sequential fashion. Line one is formatted and "printed" and then line two is formatted and "printed" etc. So, once a line is gone, it is gone and Access doesn't need to worry about it any more. With forms/subforms, Access maintains a single set of properties for each form. This works as expected when you are looking at a form in single form view. It can be surprising when you change to continuous or datasheet view to see that ALL the visible detail records have the same format. What is even more surprising to people is that when they click into a different row, the current record changes and so the formatting for all rows may also change since the formatting is always based on the conditions present in the current record. Conditional formatting will not handle everything but it will solve many problems.

Thanks for the help. Got it sorted now.
