I am using Access2003 and I have a form with a header that I can see in Design view but on Form view it is not there. I am losing my mind on this and it probably is just a setting or something I am missing but one of those things that I can not seem to find.
Thank you.

first thing maybe to do is double click on the header "grey strip" in design view and look at the sections properties. look for anything that would cause this.

It isn't a subform is it? And it isn't in Datasheet view, is it?

It sounds as if SOS is on the right track. Headers, footers and command buttons will show in Design View but will not display in a form opened in Datasheet View. This view is very limited in what you can do.

The workaround for this is to use Continuous View and tweak the textboxes to look like Datasheet View.

Thank you for your answers. I looked in properties and there is not much you can do with headers/footers.

Even if it is not an extensive list of things the events are suggesting that you can click up there which would suggest that it would appear but it is just missing.

And I am trying it in Single Form and Continuous Form and it just is not appearing except in design view.

What controls do you have in the header?

Can you Zip the fiel up and post it here?

What is the full list? There's a VISIBLE property of your HEADER on the Format tab. Set that to YES.

If that doesn't work, do what missinglinq has asked - zip, upload and post.

A form header has these properties available:

Now I am thinking it is one of those MicroSoft things just put in to confuse people and does nothing because you can not mouse over something that is not even come up. I did discover that what ever you put there will print if you print a form but it will never display or it is a trade secret.
I can not zip and upload because I have no program that will zip the file but if you want to emulate this problem, open a new Access App and just make a form in New Design View and populate the header with whatever and then view it in any way you want it just does not appear or at least for me it does not unless it is printed.

No, that is NOT the full list. Look again. You are missing several things in your list for the form header. Post a screenshot so we can see what you're looking at because I don't think you're looking at the right thing.

Am I allowed to post "OOOPS" here and try to sneak away like no one noticed my dumbness?
Thank you for all of your help and now I am looking at SOS's posts and I am thiking what or something and I notice his says FormHeader and mine says PageHeader and then I realise there is BOTH, one if for a Form and one is for a Page. So just testing it and YEP - Me is the dumbunny - so it seems that even if I am fooled by the list of the click events it is for printing only.
So thank you all again now I can get moving forward on this app.

Cool, glad you got it sorted. :) And don't feel too bad, I think most of us have been in your place at one time or another. I know I have. :D
