Hi all,

I'm Allison from South Yorkshire in the UK. I started teaching myself Microsoft Access back in September 2023. I wanted to create my own database to replace the current (unsuitable) one I use at work, along with several spreadsheets. Hopefully, I can create something that works well and helps streamline my reporting (which currently consists of counting rows in a spreadsheet!).

I have learnt so much already since I started my project but still consider myself to be a newbie and being able to ask questions of much more experienced people is invaluable! :)

Hi and welcome aboard AWF!

Hello, Allison, and welcome to the forums.

Assisting in workflow and reporting improvements was actually one of my first "real" Access projects for work. Sometimes a simple bit of analysis followed by a simple reorganization is all it takes for the boss to decide you are really earning your salary. I didn't get promoted 'cause he didn't want to let me get "harvested" by other groups, but he made sure that when step raises were available, I got my share and a little more.
