Hi everyone,
My name's Jonathon. Feel free to refer to me as that, Johnny, or SPARKLY SPARTAN, whichever feels the most natural ;D
I've been programming solutions in VBA for the office suite for a bit, not as long as most people on here, though. I've become in charge of my company's MS Access application which is acting as a front end for our actual database. The application I'm developing is also used as our accounting software, and on top of that, after the update I'm currently working on gets released. our company will use Access to track the task list of every single employee.
I'm the only guy working on this right now too... so wish me luck!
Throughout the journey of learning the ins and outs of the non-typical yet adequate tools provided for developing applications using Access, I've typed many-a-questions into my google search pane, and, more often than not, found myself here.
I just want to say, I appreciate the willingness of everyone here to teach and help others find solutions for their problems. I'm a strong believer in that myself. Many threads here have helped me out so I figured I'd join so I can interact and maybe even help others if I'm given the chance.
If I can be honest, I find VBA to be goofy sometimes... XD
But it definitely gets the job done, and I have to admit, it can do everything with the Office suite that I could possibly need it to. I work at a company that uses Excel for everything you can imagine, and as one of the few individuals familiar with the language I'm constantly using it.
Before VBA I was into C++ and Python. Working in Access has given me a chance to learn SQL, which I find to be such a beautiful language and is now my favorite way to retrieve and move around data.
Anyways, I have to admit. I'm new to forum use. This is the first forum I've decided to create an account on, but I'm looking forward to being a part of the discussion and learning the ropes.
Thanks again for all the helpful and insightful discussions on here, and God bless!
