Hi,

I have a Date field in my DB. At present date is visible as ‘23-11-2021’.
Is it possible to change visible appearance of date from ‘23-11-2021’ to ’23-Nov-21’.
I tried playing with Input mask setting but realized that am wrong here.

Can anyone please help me this. Thanks

Personally, I would avoid doing that on the table (if you have?) Do it on the forms that display the data.

Whatever your end users would like to see!
The same formatting options are available for report controls as forms.

My suggestion was generally, not to mess with formats for anything directly in a table.

Hi @Minty sir, thanks, the date were not in uniform format in the tables hence I tried to make it uniform.
However will definitely keep your suggestion in mind going forward.

That sounds a little strange - are they stored as text, rather than dates?

Hi @Minty sir, all are stored as Date. But please give me some time, I will re-check.
But 99% am sure that all are stored as Date.
Thanks for the help.

PS - Hi @Minty sir, just re-checked, all are stored as Date only.

probably because different formats are used in the tables - I agree with Minty, do not use any formatting in tables. Formatting can hide the real value of the data
