jpeg to bit map

A friend just sent me his picture to put in my DB. He sent it as a jpeg. My DB is not accepting a jpeg. I looked at all my other pic,s in this DB and they are all bit maps. I used paint and converted to 256 color bit map but quality is poor. Any suggestions.

The easiest and best way to do this is to use an online converter. But if you want to convert with Paint, make sure you choose the "monochrome bitmap" type, since image resolution doesn't change in this format.

Try Flle:Options:Current Databse:Application Options>picture Property Storage Format:reserve source image format

now my 2010 db accepts other formats
