Hey everyone,

I often need to calculate the number of days between two dates for work and personal projects.

While there are plenty of online tools available, some seem inaccurate or lack useful features like excluding weekends or holidays.

Does anyone have a go-to "Days Between" calculator they trust?

Ideally, I'd love one that allows customizations like different calendar systems or workweek adjustments.

Bonus points if it's free and works well on both desktop and mobile!

I don't know if @mike60smart posted the most recent version. Just in case, here is the thread in the forum where I post updates.

The hard bit is eliminating weekends, and especially public holidays.

Seems like any excellent function for days between would, as gemma mentioned, need to allow you to eliminate any category of dates (category=holidays, category=weekends, category=something else, PTO maybe) - and that would be best to be table-driven, at least that is what I have done. So the function would have to relate to your table of off-dates, thus making it a bit less valuable to borrow someone else's and probably easiest to write your own.

It is only hard if you don't use a holiday table. And if you do need to consider holidays, you MUST use a holiday table since holidays can vary by state in the US and even by company. When Connecticut used to file federal tax returns in a MA address, we used to look forward to Patriot's Day giving us an extra day some years.

I meant that it's not a problem that can be resolved by simply counting elapsed days, and adjusting for elapsed saturdays, sundays etc because of the nature of statutory holidays.
