i know encrytion is a very poor security aid, but as a habit i had been using this way a few decades so the state had remained, time to do a review, now i just want to be able to look at my my codes without any encryption

I do not think anyone here (apart from one perhaps) that will help you, even if they could.
We have no guarantee that this actually belongs to you. Most likely does, but as I said no guarantee.

Think hard on what you might have used.

That one person might respond here as well.

Meanwhile look here

I looked at the file and it complains of at least 3 errors, none of which I can fix. You have a broken reference to an .MDA file, which I would have no way of applying given the age of the file. You get compile errors (probably due to the broken reference). It also says there are things it can't find inside of itself, i.e. some sort of structural dependency. Since I can't get into the file, I can't even offer a suggestion. Note also that Gasman is quite correct. It would be legally dangerous for us to assist you in breaking into a file. For what it is worth, though, I believe the file to be yours since the intro screen makes sense as being related to you. It is AFTER I click through the intro screen that I see the errors I mentioned.

Hi. First of all, don't panic. Like you said, password protection in old MDB files is not really very secure. Information to overcome this predicament is readily available if you Google it properly. Do you have more than one MDB files to decrypt or just this one? Just curious...

I also looked at the file and found the same issues.
I have removed the VBA password so the code is now accessible and deleted the broken reference to the MDA file
There are of course a large number of linked tables which you didn't include so I can't test whether its all working
However, the hardest part should now be done.

However, I have the same issues about proof of ownership
If you can send me a private message with information that proves this is indeed your own database, I'll arrange to return it to you.

Brain at this age tend to freeze thus your advice 'dont panic' is appropriate. Yes the whole of work all these years
