Hello

I am a lexicographer,currently compiling a British Slang Dictionary.
I and the publishers would be very grateful foy any contributions or suggestions.

You can email your material to:

Slanglang111@yahoo.ca

Information about new slang terms should ideally include,as well as the definition, details of where and/or when the term was used or a direct quotation, together with the name of the contributor, who will be acknowledged in the book.

Thank you very much,indeed.

I can't give you any quotes. But I have heard the term wänted meaning to be unwanted or disliked. It was a popular word when I was at school and I have heard it used every now and then.

Wänted is just the popularised spelling albeit deliberately naive. You could spell it waanted pronounced wān . ted. This might be a lead although I think you would have trouble due to the similarity to the word wanted. It is a bit like patois there is no spelling.
