Dear all,

I am i trouble with data I collected after a few days trials for my work and no opportunity to reproduce them early. I have been acquiring data every 50ms going in a table made of 10 fields (2 dates fields, floats, decimals, or integers numbers in remaining fields). The file end up being 400 Mo. When I open it with Access 2010 I see that I have 231000 lines but I miss most of my data :(:(. For me 231000 lines times 10 items cannot create a file being 400Mo big so I wonder which data is making the file so big ... But when I copied the table it went down to 40Mo. Very very strange !

Did any of you get a similar problem ? Any help willl be really appreciated as I have an important meeting coming very soon where I shall use the generated data...

thanks in avdance !

Welcome Aboard:)
Access does not reuse work area so if you have a process that appends and deletes records or starts to run an append query but cancels, you will end up expanding the database (bloat) and the only way to recover the wasted space is via a compact.

Thanks for the reply Pat. We used a Siemens software and hardware solution to generate data so I will look in the suggested direction with them to understand why the database has expanded so much and where is the lost data.
