Hi, sorry to ask what might be a stupid question but I am trying to create an input mask that starts 410-1-______, it's an invoice number that has 4 digits that remain the same at the start (one of those numbers being a 0) - however, I know Access treats a 0 as an indicator for input. Is there any way I stop it from doing that for 0 on this mask, so the field appears as:

410-1-_____

Thanks

dont store repeating numbers in the first place !

Sadly it's out of my hands, every number has to start 410-1-_____ with the final 4 numbers being unique and matched to a form from another system.

If there isn't a way to have Access ignore the first occurence of 0, then I'll have to take it out but was hoping there would be.

No, no it's not.

You have just described a constant. There is no need to store constants. Notice the verb I used---'store'. That piece of data does not need to be in a table. Now when you want to use (different verb) that data you can add the 410-1 to it and have the user see it.

So, yes you do have control and no you don't store it in your table.
