I am using Access 2000 and need to tell the user when another user has already selected and is viewing a particular record - I have this working successfully.
I have set Default record locking to Edited Record and Open databases using Record-level locking on - on the Advanced tab of the Options screen.
The problem I have is
-if I try to get another record 'near' to the locked record then I still get a message saying it is locked - I guess that this it the page locking stopping me.
-if i try to get another record 'far away' from the locked record then it works.
How can I stop the page locking taking over?
