The team responsible for the AccessForever blog site has just launched a new category called Showcase, where we'll share information about interesting, exemplary or unusual Access applications. The idea is to publicise how powerful, flexible and innovative Access can be.

The first application in the Showcase is a hybrid app using Access, SharePoint and PowerApps to create a tool for a non-profit organization which supports street children in India. However, there are no restrictions/limitations as to what would make suitable examples.

This thread is intended to encourage you to submit your applications for consideration and approval for inclusion in the Showcase.
Please use this Contact form to let us know about your application.

Of course, we also encourage you to continue sharing the best of your Access related work here at Access World Forums. For example, in the Sample Databases section

We look forward to hearing about the great things you've accomplished with Microsoft Access.

The only big thing I've ever submitted was to the Code Repository section. It is a class-module-based ASCII text parser that, in a different venue, I used as a component in a tool to give an O/S scripting language the ability to do floating-point computations and time computations. I have also used it to help analyze IIS logs for page frequency analysis. In that other venue (the U.S. Navy), I also built a program flow analyzer with this parser as a part of the analysis segment. It also worked once as part of a database cross-referencer and contents reporting tool. It is a single-purpose but low-level tool that can become a basic component in other projects. It IS oriented to VBA syntax rules to a certain extent but has options to select other behaviors.

That's similar to what we have in mind although our intent is to showcase applications, preferably those in production by clients, which are built around Access in whole or in part, rather than components of applications. The latter is better served in the realm of forums like this, where other developers can leverage the code.

We want to inspire others who might wonder what Access can really do by illustrating what can be done.

Unfortunately, the best package I ever built was/is owned by the U.S. Navy. That is based on the Copyright Law of 1975 (and as amended) section on "work for hire." (Pesky little provision...) I don't own it so can't publish it.
