Tab controls causing database bloat?

Hi, I am in the process of adding tab controls to a bunch of forms. I'm not adding anything to the form other than the tab controls, then moving most of the existing controls on the form to one of two pages on the tab control. After doing this for about 15 forms, my db size has grown from about 30MB to 155MB. It wouldn't compact at all until I imported everything into a new DB, then I got it to shrink to 120MB. I tried decompile and recompile, no help.

As a test I deleted 3 of my forms and recompacted it back to 105MB.

So... my conclusion is that tab controls take up a lot of space????? Is it plausible that each form with a tab control really takes up 5MB????

Any other ideas on how to get my db back down to a reasonable size.

Using Access 2007. Yes, the db is split. The frontend contains no tables.

I use Tab controls a lot. I have not seen any significant bloat like you have described.

Do you have Office 2007 SP2 update installed?

Yes, I have the latest SP installed. Now I think I've determined that the cause of the bloat is linked OLE objects. I am continuing this discussion under "linked OLE object causing database bloat?"
