I'm a big fan of some of the classic quotations out there, right back from the time of the Stoics and up to modern philosophers, from religious figures to comedians. What are some of your favourites?

Let me start off:

"No man is free who is not master of himself." - Epictetus

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas A. Edison

Regarding artificial intelligence:

It may be hard to find, but I found a reference attributed to Albert Einstein: "Artificial Intelligence is no match for natural stupidity."

Steve Polyak - “Before we work on artificial intelligence why don’t we do something about natural stupidity?”

Jean Baudrillard - “The sad thing about artificial intelligence is that it lacks artifice and therefore intelligence.”

“History began on July 4, 1776. Everything that happened before that was a mistake.”

“Any dog under fifty pounds is a cat and cats are useless.”

- Ron Swanson
