Solved unable to insert active x control, a textbox in to excel2024 spread sheet

I am unable to add a text box as an active x control into an excel2024 spread sheet, I have the developer tab showing but when i try i get cannot insert object.
what am i doing wrong?

I have never done it, but just did it on 2019.
Perhaps try a repair of Office?

I was getting an error message saying cannot insert object.
Sorry I started a few threads as I was having problems and I forgot to come back and update this thread. It turned out that there is a setting I think via a security setting that allows something to run with notifications.
I get to a point that I cannot remember what I have done as I tried so much, information overload.
The macros seem to be running but the errors I am getting are because the path has changed and these I think I can sort out.

Sorry I cannot give a specific reply but I have forgotten.
