Hello all,

Let me begin with the fact that I am a complete newbie and nothing more than a basic knowledge of Access. I am using access 2010 and have made a simple database for the company I work for. This consists of the a table of the raw data and a form to make the data printable.

I have been asked by our admin person if I can make it possible to be able to print labels from it. I know it is possible via the wizard but very limited.

What we really need is to be able to select the people from the table that we want labels for.

I would be very grateful if som one could walk me through how to do this?

I have added a true/false check box to the table called 'label?'

You're already on the right track with the Yes/No checkbox ... just build a query that calls all name and address fields from the 'Yes' records and for which you want a label, then use the label wizard to build the Labels report for you.

Thank you for the reply. Please could you talk me through the process of how to do a conditional query? I appreciate your time.

OK ...

Query > Design Mode > Select Table > Drag Required Fields into Query including the Yes/No field > Set either "Yes" or "-1" as the Criteria for the Yes/No field.

Appreciate you're a self-declared newbie, but I reckon you can do this if you get really stuck then maybe upload your Database (if 2003 or 2007) as an attachment.

Just need to persuad it my a4 labels sheet has 7 rows and not 6! :D Any ideas?

that's sorted now too! messed with the margins. Thanks so much, headache over. :-)

I think the Label Wizard includes a step than enables you to tell it which Label (e.g. Avery) and/or how many labels in each column and row.
