Using Path as a field

I'm trying to set up the path for my images to be set in a table "General Settings"

I've tried the following code with no success:

Me.Text8 = tables![general settings]![img path] & Me.ID & "_1_" & Date$ & ".jpg"

but it doesn't work! Any ideas?
