Hi,
Please see attached screenshot for your reference.
I have an existing MS Access file with me.
There are multiple forms in the file.
On one of the form, I can see a drop-down like option on the left side of the form.
If I click on it, nothing happens, nothing gets triggered.
Am not able to understand what is this actually.
Can anyone please help me in this.

If you mean the grey bar with the right-pointing black arrow, it's the record selector.
They can be turned off in the forms design properties.

TBH after 300+ posts, I'm amazed you don't know about that.

Thanks for the help @Minty . Please see attached image if you get time.
Am sorry for my ignorance. I tried clicking on this arrow, but nothing got triggered. Hence I was confused.
Have a nice day ahead. :)

Yup, it's the record selector.
If you edit the record it will change the arrow to pencil to indicate it's being edited.
On a continuous form the arrow indicates which record you are on.

If you right-click on it you get the options available for the record, Cut, Copy, Paste.

Hi @Minty thanks a lot for the help. I understood it now.
I guess, I can 'They can be turned off in the forms design properties.' apply this.
Since there is only set of entry is entered at a time. Do not see any purpose for this option (at least in this form).

The purpose is to show you if the record you are viewing is being edited by someone else. If it is, you will see a circle with a line through it.
* = new record
> = current record
Pencil = this record is being edited by you
Circle with line = this record is being edited by someone else.

I don't generally show record selectors on a single view form but in an application where multiple users might choose to edit a single record, i would.
