I need to create an application that will reside on our server. It will be started with a scheduled task early on a workday, then through a form timer, every 5 minutes, it will poll for new information, then send emails, notify people, maybe post to a webhook etc. I would have it shut down at the end of the day and compact (if need be?).

Would Access be OK running on its own for 10 hours a day? I can compile it into an .accde, and am planning on running it with an access runtime (2013 if it matters).

anything I should look out for when designing this?

Access can certainly do all that. I've had apps running 24/7 for years, so 10 hours a day wouldn't be a problem.

you will need access runtime on your server and activated from there or a machine that will be undisturbed/no risk of being switched off/disconnected.
