The August update to Office 365 will include this :

Refresh, relink or remove linked tables (Access):
The updated Linked Table Manager in THE location for managing all data sources and linked tables.

As I haven't yet got the update, no idea whether this is a significant improvement or a damp squib like the 'modern' charts

That link is for an Addin
Whilst it may be good, presumably not the same thing as the MS update

Never said it was, just offered an alternative.

Hi,

Indeed, a new and improved Linked table Manager dialog is rolling out to O365 subscribers. We have published a new help article about it here:

https://support.office.com/article/1d9346d6-953d-4f85-a9ce-4caec2262797

I believe the product team tried to incorporate a lot of customer requests about this dialog box from the Access User Voice site. Of particular note is that the dialog box is resizable - an often cited pain point for users.

If you try to insulate your users from seeing the database window, then you need a programmatical way to change the linked tables. It's easier to do, once you have a code to do it, compared with doing it manually anyway.

I've just downloaded the latest Office 365 update by rejoining the Insider group temporarily

Attached are a couple of screenshots of the new LTM. It really does seem to be MUCH better for access developers

However, I agree totally with Dave's last post. For distributed apps, I hide the navigation pane & managed table links using code
