it will work as long as you are using x32 office.
on x64 office (ofcourse your os is x64), you cannot view it on adobe reader control
because adobe is only x32 bit.
it will go Outside your form.

By the way, using the web browser control works for me.

I use a Web Browser control to view pdf's no problem at all in Access (64bit Access). I don't use Adobe though and instead use Foxit Reader which works much better in my opinion.

I can confirm viewing a PDF also works perfectly for me within Access in a web browser control using Acrobat DC Reader. For example

Successfully done in 32-bit A2010 and A365 (both 32-bit & 64-bit)

I have Acrobat Reader DC installed - can't find out how to register an ActiveX control for this? Please help - Thanks!
I'm using a 64 bit server BTW with Access 2016.

(PS I had been using web browser control but too many other issues so I thought I'd try to get the Adobe control going).

I don't think an ActiveX control can be used with Acrobat DC Reader and don't see any reason why it would be needed.
As stated in post #6, a PDF file can be viewed in a web browser control in Access

One of the issues I run into is when opening PDF in Web Browser control in Access form (IE 11), it ALWAYS prompts to Save or Open. And I can't get it to automatically just open the PDF for viewing.

EDIT: I've tried using RegEdit - tried several promising solutions on Web, etc.

With apologies to @vhung, it can often be difficult to understand what he is saying due to language issues.

Anyway. I'm saying I can open PDFs in a web browser control in Access without any prompts - it works fine in both 32-bit & 64-bit Access

From what I can tell, the prompt is often a function of which Windows you're running, IE version, etc. (I've googled left and right). So I may be stuck b/c my IT dept has their standards. It really seems to be a question of Internet Explorer, not Access, doing the prompt. So I was trying to see if another kind of Control could handle PDFs.

This is a stretch... Can I display the a report in a subform control on a main form in 'print preview' mode? I'm trying to display a realistic, document-like , preview of a report. Converting to a .PDF and serving that seems like an unnecessary step and also a headache since Access makes it a...

It's a matter of system configuration. Unfortunately, I can't specify what you'll need.

Not sure I'm following 100%. I am able to open PDFs in Web Browser control. It just gives me a silly prompt to open/save every time. I click on open and it works fine. But the prompt is annoying.

I hesitated due to IT policy. But I opened it in Notepad just to check it out. No mention of PDFs. I think it addresses how to behave when opening Office files, but not PDFs.
