I have taken an existing report which works and tried to convert it to print new reports, but I am having the following problems in Access 2003.

Form #1
Item # C Accounting year is not grouping the chosen report and appearing on the report.
Item D has an error message (Fiscal Year is not being used on this report)

Form # 2
Item # 3 Preview is not working, is this required?
Item # 4 – chosen report is not being printed

Accounting year does not appear on report
Can the form’s print screen be closed as it is over the report

Could you please let me know what the Sub Form on = Interest_04_VendorTable_All_R = is to be used for

Your suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you
Nicole

Thank you Uncle Gizmo for part of my questions.
Could you please advise me on the other questions.

Could you please advise me on the other questions

No not really. I spent a good half hour looking through your database and I was still left scratching my head!

Your question about what the subform was used for was an easy starting point. All I did was remove the criteria and it showed results. But that then begs the question, is the criteria incorrect? Is there data missing from the tables? Something else wrong?

In another report the code added up "Total" + some other items. But I could not find a field or text box named "Total".

It might be possible to spend another half hour, and click; everything would fall into place. I would be able to see the problem/s. But the more I looked at it, the more of an impression I got that someone has been faffing about with it.

Thank you Uncle Gizmo.

One of the Ngo's volunteers about 36 years ago started a DBMS, and from that time this report and sub form have been developed.
You are correct in that a faffing has occurred.

Once we get all of our OLD Access 2003 databases corrected than we will upgrade Access to a current version.

BUT, we still are having small problems to clear up.

I didn't reply straight away because there was a small chance someone might step in and and answer some or all of your issues.

However seeing as you have not had much response I think I should explain what I see.

Often, big questions like this are posted on the forum and they seldom get answered because they are "too big"...

Most people that answer questions here are also working on their own database projects. They need a timeout, a break from the project they are working on and come to the forum to see if there's a question they can answer.

They are generally looking for a question which they can answer within a few minutes, probably a maximum of 10 minutes.

They don't have the time or inclination to get deeply involved in a question, indeed, that would be just like taking on a another project, not what they are looking for...

You need to design your question to cater for this, you need to give the prospective solution provider a clearly written explanation of the problem, with enough information for them to decide if it's the sort of question they are looking to answer.

A sample database is always a good idea, however don't just dump your complete dB in, all you do is make a big problem for the prospective agent. They don't want to have to dig through loads of forms and code to find some obscure problem you need fixing.

What do you do is, you create a separate empty database, copy into that just the forms and tables to provide just enough information to demonstrate the problem.

Again only provide the information related to one particular question. If you have other questions, post them as separate questions.

For queries and reports that filter and show data, provide a dataset of the data that needs filtering and another set which shows the filtered results you expect.

It's always best to provide a set of fictitious data. You can generate this sort of data in a spreadsheet and import it into the sample database.

Your job in posting the question is to keep it as simple as possible without leaving out necessary information.
