The potential exists for me to do some work from home and advice on connecting to database would be appreciated.

Situation that would probably exist is that back end would exist on company server.

Advice
1) Front end on PC at home or company server
2) Type of connection recommended
3) Speed issues
4) Other items that I do not know about

All comments welcome

If you are using Windows why not use the Remote Desktop Connection? It's pretty easy to set up - you will need the IP address of the server you are connecting to and an account with remote access enabled on the server.

I connect to a couple of clients servers this way - have no problems with speed or connection - although you might want to set up a dial-up vpn on your local machine - you can set this up using the network connection wizard.
