This I believe is an example of Elon Musk applying his first principle thinking to politics.

A perfect example of what a democratic government driven by a Christian religion is capable of.

Now look at a country headed by what is effectively a dictatorship and not a Christian religion underlying it... Would this have happened?

In the future what will happen?

great video - and great point. for all those who whine about the us colonizing, and having to reach back hundreds of years to make their better points

The problem with taking over everything is how do you occupy everything afterwards and stay in control of everything? Much better to mend relationships and get everyone back on friendly grounds of trade of goods.

You, like UK once apon a time, had good government.
@Mike Krailo: A valid sentiment if those on the left had compassion and were rational. Those on the left are rabid ideologues with severe TDS who have no intention of being on friendly grounds. If they did, they would not be contorting the government to (illegally) use the power of the state to implement lawfare to cripple Republicans. The left does not believe in good government.

Then Trump will just have to show them how he can be successful in spite of their hate. He has a lot more experience going into this next term. The FBI isn't going to be able to pull any of their silly let's go over there and interview the SoD and use the old entrapment trick on him. He knows the game takes a certain amount of compromise to get anything done. I just hope, we have a solid plan going forward and can start making things happen on day one to right the ship and bring more people together on issues instead of tearing us apart.

What about the separation of church and state, what the founders explicitley put in the Constitution.

JP, the separation of church and state is important, but it doesn't really fit into what Elon Musk was talking about. Just to remind everyone, Musk said:

'The US is one of the rare cases that has not been acquisitive. After World War Two, the USA could have taken over the world, any country, the USA had nukes, nobody else got nukes... We don't even have to lose soldiers... Which country do you want? The United States could have taken over everything at will, and it didn't. The USA actually helped rebuild countries, helped to rebuild Europe, helped to rebuild Japan. This is very unusual behavior, almost unprecedented.'

Musk's point is that the U.S. could have used its power to take over other countries after World War II but chose to help rebuild them instead. Talking about the separation of church and state doesn't really address that. If you have examples of the U.S. acting differently in that time, that would be more on point. Otherwise, it feels like you're bringing up unrelated stuff.

You make no sense. Furthermore, your statement appears to be a purposeful mischaracterization. Please provide an underlying reference of where you believe: "what the founders explicitly put in the Constitution".
To put it another way, the government cannot pass a law establishing a state religion (theocracy) as has been done in many Islamic countries. Unfortunately, in recent times, this part of the Bill of Rights has been perverted by the progressive left to oppress those who wish to follow Christian cultural practices (such as Christmas) to maliciously assert that those practices would be a violation of the section of the Bill of Rights cited above. Seems to me that Christians practicing Christmas is a "free exercise thereof".

Seems to me that Christians practicing Christmas is a "free exercise thereof".

If by no other means, the right to peaceably assemble justifies Christians celebrating Christmas - though the tradition of caroling is enough to make me want to hurl, because there is invariably some caroler whose voice could shatter glass. My own beliefs prevent me from going out to sing with a group of carolers and in the process of doing so, insulting their ears with my singing.

But, exercise away, if that is what you wanted.

I like Christmas trees and lights.
+1 to the houses that leave the white lights up all year
