I have a subform with data on household members linked to a main participant form. What I want to do is generate an ID number automatically for each household member, but to start again with 1 when the main participant ID number changes.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have a look at the Dmax() function and search the forum for same. This will do exactly what you want.
