I got a Chipolo ONE - the one for Android - and it worked fine when I first pressed it (it beeped) then set it next to my phone, which immediately recognized it and set it up and added it to the Find My Device app on my phone. From then on, and still now, Find My Device app on my phone successfully sees the chipolo and will locate it for me and beep it if I ask Find My Device to beep it.
However, I decided I also wanted to set up the actual Chipolo App on my phone (in case it delivered some goodies that Find My Device didn't), and going through the steps again - where the App tells me "press it so it beeps, then set it next to the phone" - now suddenly my Chipolo won't beep, when pressed.
However - it still 1) shows up in Find My Device, 2) Beeps when Find My Device app asks it to, and 3) is successfully located.
I had dropped it on the floor immediately prior to attempting the part in red font, but it's hard to believe that it is so bad quality that one drop made it no longer beep when pressed.
Overall I am still OK, I guess, as it successfully can be located & beeped using Find My Device..............But if I were to try to pair it with another phone, I'd be unable to, as it refuses to beep when pressed.
Any one who has used these gadgets before and has any ideas or insight feel free to let me know.
All in all, I'm pretty happy having paid only $20 on Amazon for the equivalent of an Apple Air Tag, only for Android.
