Convert Dates to Integer?

Hi there.

I'm having a problem with a data calculator that I've been using, basically I download this data extract that includes some dates, some numbers etc into an excel form.

I've determined that the date values I extract are now being displayed as text (just 4/4/2011, instead of the integer for that date "40735" or whatever formatted as a date)

Is there any way for to get the integer value for these dates, so that my calculator file will still work?

try using VALUE function, i think it should do the trick.

=VALUE(yourdatecellref)

try selecting the column of dates and then go to Data|Text to Columns.

You can click Finish and it should be back to integers....that you can format as Date.
