Design View Changes Won't Save (1 Viewer)

Access 2010. When I make changes to an existing report and click save, the report won't close. I have to click cancel before the report will close. I'm the admin. to the database. Any suggestions?

is it a multiuser database where each user uses the same front end? if so, you need all users off the system before you can make changes.

Hmm, a couple of things...

1. Uncheck Track Autoname...
2. Compact and Repair your database

Try again.

Thanks. Tried both. I can rebuild a new report and go back and make changes in design view and it works fine. It's when I try to edit and older existing report, I have the problem.

Are you using two different versions of Access, like one at work and a different one at home? If not trying importing all the objects into a clean database... let's make sure your database isn't becoming corrupted.

I suspect your report has become corrupted. I would try rebuilding from scratch

you could try the savefromtext and loadfromtext functions
