I tried it that way like i said but didn't work.

I even tried to create a whole new database file (mdb) and tried to copy the some of the things from the original file but couldn't make it work, even after looking at the SQL statements and stuff.

so, basically i'm heading for a fail....great :(

but without u guyz, i couldn't have got this far! ur the greatest.

I thought I could create an order table with ALL the fields, including the customer details fields and maybe some of the productpurchased details and then it would write the values in the table, but didn't do it :( and I still couldn't get the subform to display another row when a product has been chosen to order from the combo box.

This is why you need to read through all those sources and look at NorthWinds.

Lesson 1: Designing Tables

Don't put info about more than one kind of thing in the same table. You got customers, you got orders, you got inventory, then you better have three tables.

Read
this and this and this.

That will get you started.

tech as much as i would like to help you ,before i can help further
you will have to get a better understanding of access by

1.read as much as you can
2.use the built in access help
3.as time consuming as it is,trial and error

if you strike things you dont know press the f1 key

type in you question, see what access help has to offer
you will be amazed at what the help files contain

type in a key word eg "open"
eg "relationships" etc etc

dont try and tackle the hard parts first

regards bjackson
