If you go to the main help file and type Access Specification and then enter you will get all of that good info. But the fields in a table are 255, and it would be rare, if you had to use that many. It is possible to have a normalized database and need more fields than that, or even over 100, but it is very rare and should be looked at very carefully to make sure that the design is proper.

ok, that is what I thought.

I copied a table from an Access 97 Db into a Access 2003 Db and it acted funny, it said I had too many tables but i only had maybe 100 or so.

thanks!!!

I really needed the info!!

I do not want to convert the Access 97 to a Access 2003.

I want to start out with a fresh database.

thanks for the tip tho.

ok, I thought it was a lot more than I had entered.

I figured the answer was one off.

Keith:

I think you're allowed to be off slightly, every once in a while. But, if it starts to become a habit, we're going to have to relegate you to the Watercooler. :D
