Can anyone tell me how to put a filter by form button on a form and not use the tool bar?

You might try specifying your filter as criteria in a query, then create a Run Query button on the form.

Sharky II, the two techniques are quite different. Which are you interested in? Can you be more specific about what problem you are trying to solve?
