I'm a new enthusiast. I learned the Basics of MS Access back in High School, but never delved too deep into the program. I'd like to use Access for some personal and work projects. Before that, I figure I need to learn more about databases and Access before I deploy anything too critical.

You gave us at least the hint that you aren't deeply into Access yet. Which is OK; all of us started out inexperienced in Access.

Just as a suggestion, you do yourself a GREAT favor if you would study a little bit about database normalization before diving head-first into the pool. Since this IS a database forum, you can look up "normalization" from the upper-right SEARCH button. If you do a web search, you have to qualify the search as "database normalization" because at least half-a-dozen other subjects also refer to normalization in some way or another.

Concentrate on .EDU domains first - but not exclusively. After a couple of articles, the COM sites are OK. They just frequently have something to sell.

Thanks for the advice! I know a little about normalization, but I probably need a deeper dive.

I know that it’s supposed to help protect against data errors, and that all non-key attributes should directly relate to the “key, the whole key, and nothing but the key.” But that’s about all I’ve picked up. Lol.
