Ok.... :( :(

You go, hon! Aren't you a smarty-pants!? :p :D

Ahh thanks. I've read 12 chapters in my JCL book this week and just recieved my COBOL book to read this weekend.

Datasets, DSN, DDName, Job Steps, JOBLIB, PROC, PDS, DSN.... My head is sooo full of stuff right now, I feel like I'm gonna explode. I'm even dreaming about JCL!! Now I'm learning COBOL next week.

Is it possible for ones head to explode from all the data being put into it. I feel like it can. :p

We miss you lots.

Ahh, you're soo sweet Greg!! I do miss spending my days here with you all. It really made my days go by fast, and I've learned alot about the world from you all. Whether I wanted to or not.

While all the ladies here at the 'Cooler are adept at intejecting a little grace into the "discussions", you're the only one who truly has a taste for regularly combatting the testosteroney mayhem. :)

I'm one that loves a challenge. I suppose that is why I can deal with it. Because keeping all of you in line is a CHALLENGE!!!!

Testosteroney... isn't that a "San Francisco treat"?

Ohh yeah!! I completely understand this. I'm currently logged in remotely so i can rerun some of the workshops in jcl.....It's getting easier, but damn I've read the 1st chapter of COBOL......Holy crap!!! Give me VB any day. Lining stuff up in proper columns or it won't work. Sheesh and I thought men were anal. Nope COBOL is WAY more anal.

Ohh, well I'll get it. If not I'll call on my old timers here that can help me. :D *bats eyes very pretty like* Y'all know, *in a sweet southern drawl* I may need some help..and I was hopin' that y'all would help out a sweet southern gal. :D :D That is if I need it an all...*bats eyes one last time*

Anyways, back to the book...got to create a jobdeck that that will invoke a proc...or something like that. ;)

Ahhh good old COBOL. When I was in school, we were one of the last classes to use the old course schedule, which included a lot of COBOL. They then moved to a more java-based curriculum once I graduated. I hated COBOL with a passion.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people here to help you with it, but please don't ask me!

Selena, hon... where have you ever met an anal man?
Personally, I've always thought that was more of a female characteristic!
(Being a bit anal, myself.... no comments Greg!")

Oh I don't know? I recall Lisa getting all irritable the other week when I pulled her up on a couple of things:rolleyes: ;) :D

Yeah, Lisa did get all irritable, and at the time, I even marveled to myself that Selena would have somehow diffused the whole situation, and it completely eludes me how to do that.

And by the way, Col, I'm still somewhat annoyed with you. ;)

Lisa, I have no clue how I diffuse the situation. It is something I have always done all my life. I guess interjecting a bit of silliness, or even a pout here and there will do it.

Also, I have no problem bringing people out when they are being over the top. I think if you let the person know they are out of hand, that at times will diffuse it. However, you must do it gentlly, as to not bruise their ego, and not turn their ire upon yourself. I guess it is an artform.

So, it is bad of me to say....'I'm just good like that.' *wicked li'l grin*

Umm, Rich, Joe, Col, Kenny boy, Shane, Dan, Greg...just to name a few...they are all anal in their own special way. :D That is what makes them great, and great at what they do. *sweetly smiles*

I'd help, but I couldn't guarantee the results.

I could pump out pages of COBOL code, but I can't say that it'd work. :p

I actually liked my COBOL exams more than the assignments. The assignments were done on the computers, which meant they actually had to compile (missing a period in 12 pages of code made it not compile). If it didn't compile, you got a zero. But on the exams, it was was on paper. So I could write 12 pages of COBOL code, and they'd have to actually mark the logic. That meant if I missed a period, I'd still get nearly full marks rather than a zero.

So if you REALLY need me, I'll try to help. Heck, I'd even mail you my fat COBOL textbox (since I'll never use it EVER again).

Don't say never....remember you're young..and all those old COBOL programmers will be retiring soon......so you never know.

Yeah, I think it's the pouting and that kind of stuff I can't do. Never have. I'm just full-on blunt and direct, damn the torpedoes. Perhaps in many male circles that is called "bitch", but I don't care. I'm not an eyelash-batter, I'm more of a baseball-batter. :D :D

That's why we love you, Lisa!
<<bats eyes>> LOL

IRL, I'm much more of a wise-ass than I think I come across here on the forum.
And, I think I'm somewhere in the middle of the eyelash-batter and baseball-batter.
But I save the eyelash-batting for OUTSIDE the cerebral boxing matches.
